The SUB-3 active sub-woofer delivers crisp, controlled, articulate bass, free from the 'boom' and 'muddle' which characterises so many contemporary designs. Beneath its simple clean lines lies an impressive capability and unusual technical refinement. With the SUB-3 you can enjoy long hours of listening without 'listener fatigue'. The down firing pressure-zone loaded driver achieves an extra 2dB of efficiency compared with an ordinary sub-woofer which is equivalent to having an additional 70% of amplifier power on hand, an impressive example of innovative Spendor engineering. The SUB-3 can be used with a surround-sound processor or with a stereo amplifier to extend the low-end response of small loudspeakers like the Spendor S3/5.
